Gardai in Co Louth have arrested an 18 year old man in connection with an alleged rape in Drogheda.

The alleged victim - a woman in her late teens - was taken to the sexual assault treatment unit at the Rotunda Hospital in Dublin.

The attack is alleged to have happened in the North Strand area of the town in the early hours of yesterday morning.
