A man has appeared in Killarney District Court charged with the manslaughter of a man in Killorglin on Sunday night.
32-year-old Stephen O’Connor from Glencar died in Cork University Hospital on Monday after allegedly being assaulted outside a fast food outlet in the town.
Shortly before 10.30 this morning, Christian Fleming of Mountlyne, Killorglin was brought to Killarney District Court
The 20-year-old appeared before Judge David Waters.
He was charged with the unlawful killing of Stephen O’Connor at Main Street, Killorglin on February 10th.
Sergeant Michael Quirke told the court he arrested and cautioned the accused shortly after midnight last night; Mr Fleming made no reply to the charge.
Solicitor for the accused, Brendan Ahern, applied for bail for his client, which Judge David Waters granted, subject to conditions.
Mr Fleming is due to reappear in Killarney District Court next Tuesday.
