A man has died following a crash in Co. Westmeath.
The 39 year old was seriously injured when the car he was driving collided with a pickup truck on the N55 at Tubberclare near Glasson, yesterday evening.
He was treated at the scene and removed by ambulance to Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The driver and passenger of the pickup truck sustained minor injuries.
Both vehicles involved were examined by Garda forensic collision investigators and the local Coroner has been notified.
A post-mortem examination has been arranged.
Anyone who may have seen the incident is asked to contact the Gardaí.
