ThereÂ’ is mixed news for Fine Gael in two new opinion polls published this evening.
Enda Kenny'Â’s party has gained two points in one poll - while dropping three points in another.
The Red C poll in tomorrow’s Sunday Business Post gives the coalition a reasonable chance of re-election - with combined support for the coalition at 41%.
Fine Gael stands at 31% - up three points in the last week. Labour remains unchanged on 10%.
The poll - which sampled just over 1,000 adults between Monday and Wednesday - also has Sinn Féin and Fianna Fáil on equal support, at 17%.
That’s unchanged for Fianna Fáil since last week, and Sinn Féin down 2%.
Elsewhere independents are on 16%, with the Social Democrats and AAA/PBP on 3%, the Greens on 2%, Renua on 1%. The margin of error is 3%.
But the good news for Fine Gael is not replicated in the Behaviour & Attitudes poll for the Sunday Times.
That poll of 1,011 voters was taken over Monday and Tuesday - and has Fine Gael down by three points, compared to the last edition three weeks ago.
There, Fianna Fáil are unchanged on 20%, while Sinn Féin gain 1% to 17%, and Labour gain 2% to 8%.
Independents fall 1 to 14%, with the Social Democrats up three points to 4% - the Greens and AAA/PBP are on 3%, Renua on 2%, the Workers Party on 1%.
