More Than 4,500 Under-40s Quit Their HSE Job Last Year

Over 4,500 HSE staff under the age of 40 quit the organisation last year.

According to freedom of information figures, it's an increase of 12% on 2021.

A total of 10,162 HSE staff resigned or retired from the organisation last year - a 15% increase on 2021.

There was also an increase in the number of people leaving the organisation long before reaching retirement age.

2,173 people under 30 quit last year - up 39.

2,368 people aged between 30 and 40 left - up 436.

1,675 people aged between 40 and 50 resigned or retired - an increase of 326.

More than 6,200 HSE staff under the age of 50 resigned or retired in 2022.

These totals are up significantly on 2020 when a total of 7,413 HSE staff left the organisation.
