The Injuries Board says Thursday is the most likely day of the week for workplace accident which result in employer liability awards.
Compensation of 24 million euro was paid out in respect of 826 claims for workplace accidents last year, up two million on 2012.
Slip, trips and falls were the most common accident type (30.8 percent) while 80 percent of awards were under 38 thousand euro.
The highest payment for last year was 432 thousand euro, up around 100 thousand on 2012, and related to a fatal workplace accident.
