A murder investigation has been launched following a post-mortem examination on the remains of a 20 year old man discovered in Co. Kildare yesterday.
Silvestras Stoskus, who had been missing for ten days, is understood to have suffered head injuries.
A farmer out walking his land in Cornamucklagh Co Kildare yesterday made the grim discovery, when he came across the remains of the young man.
Dr Marie Cassidy carried out a post mortem on the body this afternoon at Naas General Hospital, but Gardaí say they are not releasing the results for operational reasons.
A case conference is being held in Leixlip garda station this evening –where they'’ll discuss the course of their investigation which has been upgraded to murder this evening.
Gardai in Leixlip are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have seen or spoken to Silvestras Stoskus between Sunday the 8th of March and yesterday or may have seen suspicious activity between those dates at either Bun Daire, Kinnegad or Broadford, Co. Kildare to contact them.
