US-backed Iraqi forces have made a fresh push this morning towards the Islamic State held centre of Mosul.
The northern Iraqi city was captured by the group in 2014 and is the militants' last remaining stronghold in the country.
Some of those fleeing are seeking shelter at an abandoned fuel station in the south of Mosul.
The United Nations claims almost 30,000 people have fled since the latest assault began two weeks ago.
However, it is thought about 750,000 people may still be trapped inside the city.
