Northern Ireland's justice minister says he will seek agreement to introduce laws allowing abortoin in the case of fatal foetal abnormality.
It follows a High Court ruling in Belfast today, which declared the current ban on such abortion to be a breach of human rights law.
The court says that the 1861 laws currently in force in Northern Ireland are not compatible with the European Convention on Human Rights - which also applies in Ireland.
In the Dáil the Taoiseach has said it's up to the people to decide whether the ban in the Republic should be relaxed, and has confirmed that Fine Gael TDs in the next Dáil will be given a free vote.
