The government has promised an end to families using hotels and B&Bs as emergency accommodation within twelve months.
The promise comes as it launches a 5-and-a-half billion plan to deal with the country's housing crisis.
The plan, officially known as 'Rebuilding Ireland', contains 84 tasks across five key 'pillars', for the government to undertake to deal with the crisis.
It's backed up by €5.5 billion in capital spending between now and 2021.
Among the plans, according to minister Simon Coveney, is an end to people living in hotels.
Enda Kenny said the publication of today's report would be the turning point in the battle against homelessness.
