The finance minister has confirmed he will attend the Public Accounts Committee to answer questions about NAMA.
Michael Noonan has written to the PAC this evening to accept an invitation to answer questions.
However the minister says he will seek assurances from TDs that they will ask questions within their terms of reference.
The minister had been under pressure to appear following fresh controversy about the Project Eagle sale of NAMA's Northern Ireland loan portfolio.
The Comptroller and Auditor General has suggested the taxpayer probably lost €220 million on the sale.
The hearing is likely to take place in the first week of October.
