A man identified as Faycal Cheffou has been charged with terrorist murder after the Brussels attacks which left 31 people dead.
Cheffou has also been charged with participation in a terrorist group and attempted terrorist killings.
He was one of several men detained in police raids on Thursday.
Belgian prosecutors said a second man, Aboubakar A, has also been charged with participation in the activities of a terrorist group.
In his weekly address, US President Barack Obama offered his support to Belgian authorities in helping find those responsible for the bombings:
Meanwhile, Belgium remains on high alert following this week's twin attacks at the airport and on a train pulling out of the city's Maalbeek metro station.
Brussels airport, meanwhile, has announced it will not reopen for passenger flights before Tuesday.
