The Road Safety Authority held a launch event today, calling for people to take extra care on the roads in the run up to the weekend.
Nicole Gernon reports:
The ceremonies will remember, not only the 24,000 who have died but also the 80-thousand seriously injured and the family and friends left behind.
Victims of road crashes will be remembered on Sunday
