Paradise Papers Reveal Investments In Offshore Accounts

A leak of more than 13 million files, dubbed the Paradise Papers, has revealed how the rich and powerful invest in offshore accounts.

Among them is Bono - who's accused of using a company based in low-tax Malta to buy a shopping centre in Lithuania.

AIB's offshore operations are expected to be outlined later this week.

While the private estate of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II has been accused of investing millions of pounds in offshore tax havens.

There is nothing to suggest that any of the investments are illegal.

CEO of Oxfam Ireland, Jim Clarken, says these actions have an impact for everyone.

"These wealthy elite, we need to remember, a lot of their wealth is built on the back of the services, the infrastructure, all the things that we have in this society (and) in other countries that has been paid for by ordinary people".

The papers are part of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists.

Meanwhile, the Taoiseach says Ireland is fully compliant with tax transparency.

But Leo Varadkar says they'll further examine the leaked documents:
