A man in his 40s has died after being knocked down by a van near Causeway village in County Kerry last night.

The accident happened at 8.15pm.

The driver of the van, a man in his 50s, was uninjured.

The victim's body has been taken to University Hospital Kerry for a post mortem.

Gardai are also appealing for witnesses to contact them.
