A post mortem is due today on the body of a man found in Waterford city.

The remains were found - in the garden of a house on Francis Street - around 2.30 yesterday afternoon.

It's understood he's in his 40s or 50s, and the body is still at the scene.

A post mortem examination will be carried at Waterford regional hospital later to investigate how he died.
