At 3am this morning, Thursday 4th August, there was an 8 second interrutuption to power supply and the hospital switched over to run on its own generator as is standard practice.
The transformer in the hospital’s own sub-station had developed a fault and shut down which will necessitate it being replaced. We expect this to happen by Saturday, 6th August.
An additional generator is en route to the hospital and should be connected by this evening. This will provide a more contingent supply of power until a new transformer is in place.
The Hospital says once the additional generator is installed, normal services will resume.
