Dogs Trust Ireland is urging people not to buy puppys from puppy farms.
The warning comes on foot of last night's BBC Scotland programme exposing the horrors of puppy farming.
Secret filiming was used to follow the supply chain from small time illegal sellers to huge scale profit driven puppy farmers.
Horrendous conditions were uncovered at a number of premises some of which were registered with the relevant authorities but weren't detected because of a lack of enforcement.
