Rebel Wilson has won AUS$4.5 million (€3 million) in damages from a publisher - the highest award in Australian legal history.
The Hollywood star, famous for her role in Pitch Perfect, has successfully sued Bauer Media, which publishes magazines such as Woman’s Day.
The Australian jury ruled in her favour over a series of articles they felt had branded the actress a 'serial liar'.
The judge awarded €2.6m in special damages "for Ms Wilson’s opportunity for new screen roles lost by reason of the defendant’s publications".
Bauer argued the allegations in 2015 were true, and denied damaging her reputation.
Justifying the record award, Judge John Dixon said there would be a "real risk that the public will not be convinced of the seriousness of the defamation" unless substantial damages were awarded.
Ms Wilson - who will be back on screens later this year in Pitch Perfect 3 - has welcomed the decision, and pledged to donate the money awarded to Australian charities and "supporting the Oz film industry".
Today was the end of a long and hard court battle against Bauer Media who viciously tried to take me down with a series of false articles.

To me though, this case wasn’t about the money.
