The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will arrive here tomorrow

The security bill for this week's Royal visit is expected to be upwards of €1 million.

Britain's Prince William and Kate Middleton are due to arrive for a state visit tomorrow, lasting until Thursday.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will spend time in Dublin, Meath, Kildare, and Galway.

The exact itinerary has not been released yet because of security concerns but more details, including road closures, will be announced later.

It is reported that security measures will include snipers on rooftops, drains being welded shut and a number of road closures.

The visit comes at a crucial time for relations between the UK and Ireland in the wake of Brexit, and is being seen as a diplomatic effort to highlight the many links between both countries.

The Palace says the trip will take in Ireland’s rich culture, community initiatives and spectacular scenery.
