SIPTU and NBRU representatives are to attend discussions at the Labour Court tomorrow in relation to the ongoing dispute at Irish Rail.
Yesterday the rail network ground to a halt in the second 24 hour strike by drivers in the row over pay.
Workers who haven't had a wage increase in ten years are looking for a rise of just over 11% over the next three years.
However Irish Rail says it can't afford that, and instead has offered just over 5% with increased productivity measures.
The NBRU is advising that while it’s a positive step, a resolution to the Irish Rail dispute will be difficult.
There are three further days of strike action planned by staff.
SIPTU Transport Division Organiser, Greg Ennis, said: “SIPTU representatives have been invited by the Labour Court to attend a full hearing tomorrow morning with regard to the ongoing Irish Rail dispute. We have confirmed that SIPTU representatives will attend the hearing with a view to achieving an acceptable resolution of the pay dispute.”
