Skerries County Dublin has been named Ireland’s tidiest town for 2016.
The announcement was made this afternoon at The Helix in Dublin this afternoon.

The seaside town got top marks in categories like community involvement and planning, landscaping and open spaces and litter control.
Skerries have first entered the competition in 1959 and have consistently achieved high standards in the competition at local and regional level.
Birdhill in Tipperary is Ireland’s Tidiest Village while Ennis in Co. Clare has been named Ireland’s Tidiest Large Urban Centre.
