The slump in support for Fine Gael and Labour means a number of high profile government ministers are set to lose their seats. The Tánaiste Joan Burton looks as if she will hold on in her Dublin West constituency.
In Dublin Central, outgoing Transport Minister Paschal Donohoe is facing a tough fight. Next door in Dublin Bay North, Minister of State Aodhán O'Ríordáin of Labour is also struggling.

In Dublin Bay South another Labour Junior Minister Kevin Humpreys is set to lose his seat, but so too is Renua Ireland leader Lucinda Creighton. Communications Minister Alex White of Labour has also fallen in Dublin Rathdown.
Meanwhile, Emmett Stagg, the Labour Kildare North TD for the past 20 years, faces the real possibility of losing his seat.
Other Labour TDs who have lost seats include Joanna Tuffy in Dublin Mid West and Joe Costello in Dublin Central. Willie Penrose has also lost his seat in Longford Westmeath.
Sinn Féin's Martin Ferris and Labour's Arthur Spring are in trouble in Kerry where the Healy Rae brothers Danny and Michael are carving up the Kingdom.
In Cork South Central, which has been reduced to a four-seater, Fianna Fail are doing well at the expense of Labour's Ciaran Lynch, who was the chair of the Banking Inquiry. On the other hand, Fianna Fáil's Colm Keaveney - who defected from Labour in the last Dáil - is in trouble in Galway East.
Only in Mayo is there good news for Fine Gael where they may just buck the trend by returning 3 TDs including the Taoiseach Enda Kenny.

However, Deputy Fine Gael leader James Reilly has a mountain to climb in Dublin Fingal in a fight for the final seat. The bad news for Fine Gael continues in Cork North West where Áine Collins looks set to lose her seat and it also looks like Jimmy Deenihan could lose in Kerry.
Meanwhile trouble is also on the horizon for Sinn Féin's Padraig MacLochlainn in Donegal.
