The west coast is bracing itself for more extreme weather, and possible flooding as Storm Eva approaches.
It comes as the Flood Response Co-ordination Group meets to assess areas at risk around the country.
Winds gusting up to 120 kilmoetres per hour are forecast for this evening in Counties Donegal, Galway, Mayo, Sligo and Clare where a Status Orange wind warning's in place from 1pm, and a status yellow wind warning for the rest of the country.
Met Eireann Forecast Joanna Donnelly says high winter tides will create extra problems, with high water levels.
The storm coincides with high tidal levels, and local authorities are implementing flood defence measures for areas at risk.
Meanwhile, With river levels on the Shannon due to rise slightly over Christmas, The Flood response group meets at 11 this morning, to assess the measures needed to safeguard homes over the Christmas period.
