The group representing Ireland's students says holding the marriage equality referendum a month early won't unfairly influence the outcome.
The Government has revealed the country will vote on same-sex marriage in early May - but the USI wants the referendum to be held in April.
It claims most college-goers will be too busy with exams by May and has suggested the 24th of April as a possible date.
The Taoiseach has already agreed to personally appeal for a YES vote in public debates on the issue.
