Survivors of the symphysiotomy procedure have described a report on the compensation scheme for victims as "a whitewash".
The report found that the scheme cost just under €34 million and made awards of €50,000, €100,000 or €150,000 to 399 women.
Releasing the report the Minister for Health Simon Harris said: "I hope that the conclusion of this process will help to bring closure for the women involved and their families”.
The medical procedure, which saw a woman's pelvis broken during childbirth, was common in Ireland until the 1970s.
However, support group Survivors of Symphysiotomy (SOS) around 200 applications were refused.
SOS claim the scheme was 'irrational, adversarial and unjust'.
