A 17 year old is due to appear before Cork District Court this morning charged in connection with a stabbing.

It happened at around 10:30pm on Saturday night at Waterpark in Carrigaline.

The victim, a 17 year old boy, was beaten and stabbed a number of times.

He was treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries and was released last night.

The attack was filmed and posted on social media. Local TD Donnacha O'Laoghaire is asking people not to share it.

"I don't think its something that any victim of crime would want, to have footage of the attack, particularly an attack like this, circulating. I think if it was a member of my family certainly it's not something I would want, to risk seeing it anytime I opened social media. For that reason, I would urge people not to share it."

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the Waterpark area at the time of the attack and can assist in the investigation to contact them. They're particularly eager to hear from any road users who may have dash-cam footage.
