President Trump's new communications director has been sacked.
Wall Street financier Anthony Scaramucci - who has become known by the nickname 'The Mooch' - was appointed just over a week ago.
In a statement, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said: "Anthony Scaramucci will be leaving his role as White House Communications Director. Mr. Scaramucci felt it was best to give Chief of Staff John Kelly a clean slate and the ability to build his own team. We wish him all the best."
Earlier, retired General John Kelly was named as Donald Trump's new chief of staff - and according to The New York Times Scaramucci has been removed at Kelly's request.
Scaramucci drew controversy last week after launching a foul-mouthed tirade against several of his colleagues - including the now former chief of staff Reince Priebus and President Trump's chief adviser Steve Bannon.
He described Preibus as “a paranoid schizophrenic”, and also insisted he would "eliminate everyone in the comms team and we’ll start over".
Priebus departed from his role late last week, while Scaramucci's appointment earlier this month is reported to have been the motivation behind the resignation of press secretary Sean Spicer.
