The trial of a Dublin man accused of murdering a young father because he was sleeping in his bed has heard the 999 call made to paramedics.

Trevor Corr of Kiltalown Way, Tallaght denies stabbing James Humphries in the chest in September 2013.

Just hours after Dublin lifted the Sam Maguire on September 22nd 2013, Brian Murphy received an emergency call from Jason Harte, a security guard at a takeaway across the road from Trevor CorrÂ’s home in west Dublin.

He said there was a man leaning against a wall with blood seeping through the front of his t-shirt. He said he did his best to help him and asked the accused to bring him a pillow and duvet.

The emergency call was played for the jury, and the prosecution claims Mr. Corr can be heard in the background saying: “I stabbed him in the bed”.

When asked what had happened, the 39-year-old allegedly asked Gardai: “would you not stab him if he was lying in your bed?”

James Humphries died in hospital less than an hour later. A post mortem revealed heÂ’d been stabbed once in the chest.

Trevor Corr denies murdering the 32-year-old father of one.

His trial will resume on Monday.
