Tributes are being paid to Karen Buckley as police in Glasgow work to formally identify her remains.
Friends of the 24 year old have raised thousands of euro to help her family, who travelled to the city in the hours after her disappearance.
Police in Glasgow have yet to officially confirm that the body found on farmland north of Glasgow is that of Karen Buckley, but her family have been told of the devastating find.
It follows an intense police operation by Police Scotland, who drafted in specialist officers from across the country.
A post-mortem examination is due to be completed later, and police are following a definite line of inquiry.
The University of Limerick, where Karen qualified in nursing says it is deeply saddened at the reports, while Caledonian University, where sheÂ’s been doing a Masters, is offering counselling to its students, many of whom are still in distress.
