A man and a woman, both in their 30s, have been arrested after a shotgun and ammunition were recovered in Co Cork.

A car was stopped by Gardai at a checkpoint in Blarney at around half past seven yesterday evening.

The man and woman were arrested at the scene and taken to Gurranabraher and Mayfield Garda stations.
