The nominations for this year's Oscars have been announced and it's great news for Ireland.
Saoirse Ronan and Michael Fassbender both received nominations for Best Actress and Best Actor in Brooklyn and Steve Jobs.
In a statement Saoirse Ronan says 'this has all been a dream'. She says making Brooklyn was the most personal film she had done, and the hardest too.
Two Irish films have also been shortlisted for Best Picture - Brooklyn and Room - with director Lenny Adrahamson also being shortlisted for Best Director.

Room's author Emma Donoghue is among the Best Adapted Screenplay nominees while Brie Larson who plays the Mum in Room has also been nominated for Best Actress.
While British drama Stutterer, the brainchild of three filmmakers, Irish writer/director Benjamin Cleary, producer Shan Christopher Ogilvie and producer Serena Armitage, has also been nominated for an Oscar.

Michael D Higgins says this year's Oscar nominations are 'a remarkable testimony of the vitality and diversity of the talent available to the Irish film industry'.
In a statement he has sent his warmest congratulations to those shortlisted describing it as an 'unprecedented strong Irish representation'.
While The Irish Film Board described the nominations as 'a triumph'

The ceremony for the 88th Academy Awards will take place in Los Angeles on February 28th, hosted by comedian Chris Rock.
