Search teams have found a car that was seen driving into the River Lee in Cork city this morning.

Reports suggest there may have been someone inside the vehicle, but no one has been located as yet.

The Valentia Coastguard says the vehicle has been located upside down under the water by divers, and the search is continuing.

The RNLI lifeboat, a Coastguard rescue helicopter, Gardaí and fire crews are at the scene at the Lee Rowing Club.

The alarm was raised by Gardaí around 6am this morning.
