A dog has survived a 91 meter plunge into the Atlantic from a cliff in Co. Clare.

The alarm was raise on Sunday afternoon after the Jack Russell named Vimes lost his footing and fell into the sea at Lookout Point near Kilkee.

He luckily avoided the rocks on the way down and managed to swim to the base of the cliff.

He was eventually picked up by the Irish Coast Guard.

Vimes tweeted a selfie of himself this morning taking a nap saying he is taking it easy now.
