There is new hope for a breakthrough in the Garda dispute.
The AGSI and the GRA have both agreed to attend talks with the Department of Justice, in a bid to avert next Friday's threatened strike action.
They have agreed to utilise the services of the State industrial relations institutions on an ad-hoc basis.
It is understood the Workplace Relations Commission will oversee the negotiations.
The two representative groups are seeking restoration of pay, which was reduced as part of austerity measures.
