Every home in Ireland will have to pay a licence fee, even if they don't have a TV, under news proposals.

A dail report on the future of public service broadcasting suggests a household charge that factors in laptops and tablets, while a 'culture tax' would be imposed on internet service providers.

According to the Irish Independent, there's also an indication that the current fee could increase from €160 to €175.

Ireland has the highest licence fee evasion fate in Europe, costing around €40 million a year.
