You might think we're yanking your chain, but Dermot and Dave's Dave Moore has co-written and provided vocals for a song that has been added to the 61st Grammy awards ballot.
MINDRIOT.mt are a rock band from Micthelstown in Cork, who were yesterday informed that their song 'We Owe You Nothing' has been included in the Best Rock Song category. And not only that, they have also been chosen on the list for the Best Rock Performance.
A while back, the band, who are great buddies with Dave, asked if he would help them pen a new track. Seeing as he can hold a tune (don't tell him we said that) they also asked him to spit a few lyrics while he was it - and he duly obliged.
Sooooo....this happened! delighted to announce our single “We Owe You Nothing” has been added to the 61st Grammy awards ballot for Best rock performance & best rock song 🤘ðŸ»â˜ ï¸

Chatting on Dermot and Dave, the hosts take a look at this amazing feat and of course Dermot takes the opportunity to pull the proverbial out of his lap-blanket-loving-bestie, "he's only had one song and he's already getting notions".
Dave's under no illusions re being 'shortlisted' though, as he laughed in saying "what's the bit before a longlist?".
Regardless of the length of the list, it's a pretty cool claim to fame. Some absolute tunes have won the Best Rock Song title:
2011 - Foo Fighters - Walk
2009 - Kings of Leon - Use Somebody
2007 - Bruce Springsteen - Radio Nowhere
2004 - U2 - Vertigo
That's pretty impressive!!
Here's 'We Owe You Nothing' in full:
I'm off to iron my tux and book flights to LA for next Feb...
