Ahh the Irish! We have one of the most sought after passports on the planet, we love having the craic, and in most country's eyes, we absolutely love the sauce!!
Now in fairness, we do enjoy our nights out, and have a very loose approach to booze, but is that what the country should really be recognised for in 2018?
Well an Irish-American man by the name of Kevin Westley is doing his damnedest to put a halt to this cliché. He has been taking on superstore Walmart since 2014, in a battle to stop them from selling their offensive t-shirts which label us as drunkards.
You know the ones, 'Irish I was drunk', 'I'm not drunk, I'm Irish', 'Irish Yoga Positions' etc.
This morning, Dermot and Dave gave Kevin a call to find out more about his crusade, and there was a massive reaction from our listeners. It was fairly 50/50 too.
So what do you think? Do you think these slogans are all a bit of harmless fun? Or do you think that maybe it's time lose the alcoholic characterisation?
I'm off for a pint to think this over...
