All this week on Today FM, we are getting behind the Irish Cancer Society's Father's Day Campaign. 

Thousands of men will get a cancer diagnosis in Ireland this year. This Father's day it's time to show our appreciation and support our dads and the men in our lives by encouraging them to put themselves and their health first. 

On this morning's Dermot and Dave, we were honoured to welcome Chris Latham in to studio to tell us about his battle with cancer and the affect it has had on his life. Chris hopes that his story will help the men of Ireland to get checked more regularly. 

Fortunately Chris has come out the other side and now has a wonderful family and healthy lifestyle, but had his non-Hodgkin lymphoma not been detected as soon as it was, God knows where he would be today. 

The Irish Cancer Society is asking you to support men affected by cancer by texting FATHER to 50300 to donate €4. (texts cost €4. Irish Cancer Society will receive a minimum of €3.60)

You can also buy a Father's Day gift from www.cancer.ie and support the fight against cancer. Get him some IOU vouchers, print them off and promise to make him his favourite dinner, help with DIY, or hand over the remote for the week. 

All money raised will fund supports for men affected by cancer. The Society offers a range of information services highlighting ways men can reduce the risk of cancer including a downloadable Men's Manual.
