D'Unbelievable as ever, Pat Shortt is back with his brand new show called 'Hey!', where he takes a refreshing look at Irish life, in his own unique way.

His previous shows 'The Hall', 'Selfie' and 'How's Tings?' were all massive hits, selling out nationwide, so we cannot wait to see him in action in his latest production.

Thankfully, Dermot and Dave didn't have to wait until next year to get their dose of Shortt-ness.

But one thing we hadn't noticed before (well I didn't anyway) is the resemblance between Dave and Pat? It wasn't until Dave brought it up, saying he gets it all the time on social media, to which Pat replied, "we've got that kinda common head on us". This can never be unseen now.

Speaking on the show, Shortt tells us how funny his daughter is, and how excited he is that she's in acting school, explains why, when it comes to gigs, "you don't have to go abroad to get strange audiences", and why a venue is so important.

He then reveals one of his performance techniques, guaranteed to get the crowd on your side, "there's a thing in comedy and performance, that you ride the audience". The lads get a good kick out of that one I tell ya!

The comedian also gives us a little hint at what people can expect in his new show - a beauty pageant in the Premier county called 'Tipperary Tulips', "where a couple of tulips are plucked each night". Audiences will definitely be getting a good going over by the sounds of things.

And not forgetting his own acting prowess, Shortt tells us about two movies he's starring in, which are coming out soon, and how the darkness of one of them, 'Belly of the Whale', pushes him out of his comfort zone. He loves it though.

'Hey!' debuts at The Olympia Theatre, Dublin from the 10th-12th of January 2019. So check it out.
