You may have seen Phil Penny get another bite at the romance cherry on last night's First Dates Ireland, as he was welcomed back for a second time to try and make up for an appalling effort on the dating show last year.

In January 2018, Philly was paired up with Louth lady Amy Maria and things couldn't have gone any worse for the hungover Tallaght man:

Anyway, that was then, and fast forward a year later, the former Tallafornia star 'redeemed' himself with mature student Rachel from Wexford. Well almost.

Despite thinking she was from Carlow, and not getting a second date, the 33-year-old changed a lot of people's perspectives of him - even if the old Phil surfaced a couple of times.

Speaking on Dermot and Dave, Philly chats about his First Dates experience and reveals how it's all matterless now as he's gonna be a dad in the very near future after rekindling love with his ex Laura.
