But where's the owner?

Commuting dog 'Hamish' has become an overnight celebrity after the stray was found all alone in Dublin's Heuston Station on Wednesday after travelling on the train from Kildare.

He boarded the 08:46 service from Sallins and his real owner has yet to come and claim him.

Animal-loving Irish Rail worker Ted Maher is the kind hearted soul who took the adventurous pooch in for the night, and he had great fun with five other dogs in Ted's home, as Dermot and Dave found out in a call to see if there has been any update on the 'real' owner.

"We've had plenty of people coming forward saying he's theirs", Ted admits, but none of these have proven to be legitimate.

Maher's main concern is that, "we get him back to his real owner safe and sound".

So if Hamish happens to be yours, or you know who he belongs to, then get in touch with either us or Irish Rail on social media.
