Brian Pennie has discovered just how incredible life can be after battling through a harrowing heroin addiction to come out the other side, becoming an author and a PhD candidate.

Brian was once deemed too high risk for detox and at one of his lowest points he fell asleep in a meeting where he was trying to save his job.
