Miniature flags and glow sticks at the ready - Eurovision season has opened once again.
RTÉ have officially announced they are now taking public submissions from performers and songwriters who would like the chance to represent Ireland on the world's biggest entertainment stage.
But after Israel's Netta 'the chicken" Barzilai winning the last competition and Ryan O'Shaunghnessy coming a very respectable 16th place with yet another ballad, Dermot and Dave wanted to take a look a potentially winning formula.
The lads rewound our memories back to the likes of Brendan Murray, Jedward (Maria's favourites) and Dustin the Turkey, to see if we can learn from our 'mistakes'.
But then, in recent years, there's the likes of this winning:
So where's the logic?
Maybe we do need a bit of a gimmick for the 64th edition of the contest in Tel Aviv next May??
The listeners also had their say with The Coors, U2, Noni and Kevin Kilbane all getting shortlisted.
