Jennifer Doherty from Donegal has done some pretty impressive things, including flying a plane and driving a rally car.

But nothing has been more unique than effectively going to Everest on a whim.

Last Christmas, she was surprised at her home by Donegal adventurer Jason Black who invited her to join him on a trek in May.

Speaking to Dermot and Dave, Jennifer says ‘if I thought about it, I’d have talked myself out of it’.

Instead Jennifer, who is blind, took to the footpaths and exercise bike and prepared for a trip of a lifetime.
