It's the worst time of year for allergic rhinitis (the fancy name for hay fever), as a wet winter/spring followed by a scorching spell of sunshine is the ideal atmosphere for the spread of pollen and aeroallergens.
The ailment can be quite annoying for sufferers as it results in a serious dose of sneezing, sniffles and swollen/itchy eyes.
Thankfully geniuses around the world, like Dr. Stephen Lane and his team over at Tallaght University Hospital, are working on remedies to help ease, and hopefully one day eradicate, the problem.
Stephen is the Respiratory Consultant at the hospital and on this morning's Dermot and Dave, he chatted to the lads about the different strains of the condition and how their 'immunotherapy' is helping to relieve it.
