Kilkenny-based animation studio Cartoon Saloon has previously been nominated for three Academy Awards for their works, The Secret of Kells, Song Of The Sea and The Breadwinner.
This week, the company learned their latest creation, short film Late Afternoon has been shortlisted for the 2019 Oscars - in the Best Animated Award category.
Written and directed by Louise Bagnell, Late Afternoon tells the story of an old lady with dementia who frequently drifts into her past.
Speaking on Dermot and Dave, Cartoon Saloon co-founder Paul Young describes it as, "a lovely kind of poetic story with a twist at the end" about the disorder.
Here's a look at the trailer:
Fear not, although the Awards are a couple of months away, Young teases us by saying "we will put it online soon".
He's not getting too complacent either, saying "we've got a 50/50 chance because it's down to ten films and it goes down to five", in a grounded tone.
The lads also chat about how, "Kilkenny has become a nice hub for animation" and Paul even throws in some advice for any aspiring youngsters, "start writing and start drawing and draw from life".
The final nominations will be revealed in January.
