After 50 years in politics, 36 years as a senator and 8 years as Vice President, Joe Biden will today be inaugurated as the 46th President of the United States of America. It's going to be an inauguration like no other, Washington DC is under an effective lockdown after the protests a few weeks ago, and Covid restrictions mean that there'll be no crowds.
Sadly, for Laurita Blewitt and her family in Mayo, restrictions also mean that they can't travel to the US to cheer on Cousin Joe as he takes on the most famous role in the world.
Speaking to Dermot and Dave, Laurita revealed how the family will be celebrating this afternoon and told us of her incredible friendship with Joe Biden.
