The Munster Technological University lecturer is currently making her way across the Atlantic, completely solo.

Dr Weekes is hoping to become the first Irish woman to complete the trek, and is currently a little over six weeks into her journey.
Speaking to Dermot and Dave, Karen revealed how she’s been getting on, how she manages to sleep and if she’s eaten all the nice biscuits yet!
