Ahh the humble spud - the divine ambrosia of Éire.
Where would we be without it lads??
Potatoes are deeply rooted in the history of Ireland and now, in 2018, a farmer from Termonfeckin has taken a step into the future.
Gerry Finnegan has developed a novel way of selling his produce by creating the potato vending machine. €5 for a 5kg bag, 24/7. Genius!
It's also more economical as it's cutting out the middle man. Gerry can now sell them directly and although the initial setup has cost a few quid, the inventive county Louth man says, "ya have to look at it as a long term thing", as he told Dermot and Dave.
He's not finished there though as he revealed "we're thinking of putting in an egg one in the near future". Eggs and spuds? Sure what else would ya want?
Gerry also gives us his professional opinion on what makes the perfect potato.
